This and last year's Dewback vs. Escape pod microfighters are really cute. In this one, you get two familiar, but actually new (to my knowledge) figures. The tusken raider has a new torso piece, so it will be good variation with any existing tusken figures you have, and the pilot has a cool helmet and head piece (can you ever have enough unique rebel helmets?), and his torso and legs are plain enough that you could credibly remix into any number of minfig combinations.Something I appreciated as a collector and MOC builder was that the Bantha build comes with a good deal of Dark Brown pieces, including slopes. Dark Brown, as opposed to Reddish Brown, is a pretty rare/expensive color, so it's good to have these in my pot now.
A great little Star Wars Lego set! The brick built Bantha is really well done and I think the colours are great as well as the two minifigures. I appreciate the new printing on the Tusken raider which makes him different to the one in the Tatooine battlepack set 75198. I really like the brick built creatures which have come out lately such as the Bantha and Dewback and hope Lego can create some more e.g. a Wampa or Tauntaun.
A great Microfighters set, with only a few negative points, but so much good ones.
75265 T-16 Skyhopper vs Bantha Microfighters was reviewed in issue 69 of Blocks Magazine.
75265 T-16 Skyhopper vs. Bantha Microfighters has exceeded my expectations, due primarily to the excellent design of the T-16 Skyhopper which was overshadowed by the bantha upon initial inspection. Both models include wonderful detail and are suitably balanced between authenticity and exaggerated Microfighter proportions. I am particularly impressed with the triangular shaping of the airspeeder.
All told, these three Microfighters bring something new to the LEGO Star Wars sub-theme, and should rightly pull in more interest from a wider selection of fans.
