Sith TIE Fighter

I always can appreciate new variants of the Tie fighter and this is another one that I can now add to my collection. This set looks awesome and I enjoyed building it. Its very sturdy and I like the mini figures included as well (though it would have been cool to have gotten a Sith Tie Fighter pilot figure instead of the regular FO Tie Fighter pilot). I love the way the set looks on the stand, and it sits nicely with the other Tie Fighters I have (more Lego Star Wars starships should come with stands).This set is a bit over priced at $79 and only 470 pieces, but I still think its a good buy, if only for the uniqueness of the Tie fighter variant. I don't get why this set has had so many hate on facebook.... I think this set is great ! Overall look is loyal to the movie (as we can resonnably expect from a LEGO set). The price is a bit high tho, that's why I am giving 4/5. more less

Subject matter notwithstanding though, the set still has a decent selection of minifigures, new wedges in large quantities and a fair few rarely seen elements to its merit. The price too seems fairly consistent with previous vehicles of this size. However, I just can't truthfully say these redeeming qualities make the entire set worth it for me – it's just one of those Star Wars ship designs that doesn't quite hit the mark in playset form. more less

I only recommend this for completists, who need every TIE model released, or hold off until LEGO get around to doing a UCS Sith TIE Fighter. For everyone else, I'd steer clear and save my money for something else. more less

It is very robust, but it certainly has a big problem, it is badly balanced. It's even difficult to hold, as its weight tends to tip it forward. In fact, the body of the ship has prominent jaws on the sides of the cockpit so that it can be held in place without falling. It is possible that the bricks and pieces that have been added to put the projectile launchers have increased their weight notably in front of the ship's axis. Even so, there is no doubt that it is an impressive model in appearance. more less

LEGO renditions of TIE-series craft have demonstrated continuing improvement during recent years and 75272 Sith TIE Fighter maintains that trend. The unusual design of the TIE Dagger looks superb here, especially when viewed from either flank where its triangular profile becomes most visible. I am similarly satisfied with the robust connection between the wings and the cockpit. more less

75272 Sith TIE Fighter is an interesting and noteworthy set for a number of reasons, making it a welcome addition to the LEGO Star Wars collection. Somewhat unfortunately, though, its unusual appearance brings with it compromises in design and play. more less
