I've been waiting for a heavy/bulky stormtrooper design, the Deathtrooper coming the closet. This figure is one of a kind, an amazingly designed armor made into an amazingly designed set. In the pictures on the box and LEGO.com, the cloth pieces almost look like plastic, but rest assured, they are proper and thick cloth pieces that are perfect for this trooper. As always, the move-accurate blaster is a big plus. Would reccomend to anyone, even if the buildable figure sub-genre is not your thing. This is a great display piece.
It will be interesting to see whether the Range Trooper distinguishes itself in any way within Solo: A Star Wars Story or if, like the Scarif Troopers before him, this guy is nothing more than further Imperial cannon fodder. The answer to that question will likely have a direct impact on this figure's sales, as I cannot imagine that he will be very popular otherwise – despite being a decent looking figure in his own right.
