I was so excited about this set when I first saw it revealed. I am a big fan of Mini Coopers and getting one in Lego minifigure scale is great! My favorite thing in this set is the classic Mini, but the other car and build is nice too. Be warned, though, this set contains a very large sticker sheet and many of the stickers are extremely difficult to align properly, especially when a stripe or line is continued on a few stickers/pieces. I was fully aware of all the stickers in this set and how difficult they would be, but I was still somewhat frustrated while applying them and at what some of them looked like after applying them. Overall all, though, this is a great set with great Lego representations of awesome vehicles. I would absolutely love to see Lego make more Minis, maybe just small fifteen-dollar sets of this exact build or a similar build with different colors. If more Speed Champions Mini Coopers are released, I will be sure to at least consider purchasing them.
is a great set i buy it for my son and he love it i think the suspention was a great idea but i thinkthe mini cooper could have been more detailed
You have to be into cars to love this set. I bet almost no one knew the original Cooper Works buggy before it was made a LEGO set. So it's hard to convince yourself to buy a 50€ set if you actually wanted just the red Mini. But rest assured: Both cars are great and a very nice addition to your car collection. The red Mini easily fits in every City layout, for the buggy it's a bit more complicated.
The LEGO Mini is my favourite of the Speed Champions cars to use in the Forza Horizon 4 LEGO expansion. The set is also a great little recreation of an iconic British car. The build is a little more simplistic compared to the other LEGO Speed Champions vehicles, but it is part of a larger set. Even though this is the case, there are still some nice little details.
I really can't recommend this set enough. Both vehicles were a joy to build and discover. They also look great on display, and children will undoubtedly love bounding them about their imaginary motorways. Car lovers, kids, and those looking for some advanced build techniques cannot go wrong with this set.
To capture the diminutive size of the 1967 Mini Cooper S Rally, the body of the car is just five studs wide, rather than the standard six of most Speed Champions vehicles, and is constructed primarily out of SNOT brackets and headlight bricks. The car features several interesting examples of clever parts usage, including black meat cleavers used to represent the front mudguards, and rubber bands used to attach tires onto the roof rack – a connection technique which is common among AFOLs, but rarely seen in official sets.
75894 1967 Mini Cooper S Rally and 2018 MINI John Cooper Works Buggy is definitely my favourite Speed Champions set that LEGO has produced so far! I had high expectations for the Mini Cooper S Rally and this model is even more impressive when assembled than it appears in official images. The car features numerous realistic details and looks magnificent when compared with the original vehicle, especially at the front and rear.
