Raptor Rampage

What I almost dislike about these is how much my grandson loves his Legos. Not to mention, I have to help him. Part of the being a good grand dad. Tried some knock offs last year. they were a pain with lousy instructions. For sure, I am a senior citizen Lego supporter :) more less

I really like this set. Not quite as much as the T. rex Tracker, but close. On sale, it has a decent value, though it is above the average cost of a brick at the time of this writing. I like that this set is actually based on a movie scene. I wish the interior actually had some veterinary equipment, and that more thought had been put into the lower part of the truck frame. The Minifigures are nicely done, and the raptors are excellent. You also get a good Minifig to brick ratio. The build time is good for the price, especially on sale. It might be a bit pricey to buy for the raptors alone, but the set itself is pretty good. I recommend this one. more less

At the end of the day, how you play with them is completely up to you. For me, my raptors ride into battle on the back of an ambulance while an ACU trooper mans the gunner's station on top, escorted by a motorcycle-driving Owen. If you're a raptor fan, you'll need this one and the Walmart-exclusive 75920 Raptor Escape set to complete the squad. more less

Fans of the movie Jurassic World will like collecting the movie character minifigures and Raptors, as well as building the world they've seen in the movie. This construction set will engage kids in open-ended, narrative-based play as they recreate favorite scenes or imagine all-new adventures. more less

Overall, the LEGO Jurassic World Raptor Rampage (75917) set is a decent one despite some inaccuracies with the builds. The minifigures and the two velociraptors are the main draw of the set as many of them are exclusive to this particular set. I recommend picking up this set at a discounted price because the truck itself does not justify the $50 price point. more less

In the end, it definitely seems like for most of the Jurassic World sets you are basically paying for some sweet dinosaurs and almost everything else is an afterthought. I think it's definitely best to bite the bullet and buy the sets which contain the dinos you most want, but if it's a kid's gift you are looking for then this set is definitely recommended! more less

The truck is underwhelming itself, mostly due to its plain colour scheme. Blue and white LEGO vehicles somehow always remind me of City Police sets, and all the stickers in the world won't be able to shake that image in my eyes. The only redeeming quality of the set are the Velociraptors and 3 minifigures, the rest is just overpriced fluff. more less

I like elements of this set, but certainly not enough to justify the price. Naturally the minifigures and Velociraptors will be the main selling points but they don't make up for the vet truck which has decent play value, but suffers from poor film accuracy. more less
