Recommendation: meh 4.7 / 5 from 74 reviews

Great build for 40$. Very sturdy. I would only dock this for having remove his head to transform (there's no place to fold it away) and the big turret barrel on his back looks like crap in "sentry mode" (when he's all turned around and just looks like a minigun turret). He looks a lot better than the Reinhardt or Dva that were also released though he is obviously not to scale. Still a great value for 700 pieces, would recommend.

It's a shame we don't get a minifig-scale Bastion in this wave, but this large transforming action figure of the character certainly makes up for it, even if it doesn't fit in with the rest of the sets. It looks great in both modes, is very poseable, and feels sturdy, plus it has a light brick and other neat parts.

Recommendation: meh 4 / 5 by Richard

I love the overall model, the posability, and the colour scheme. The details included match the source material well, and the conversion from recon to sentry mode is quite nifty. I can understand why this scale has been used, even though it is out of keeping with the rest of the Overwatch sets.

Bastion is an unusual set that contains a rather nice inventory (especially when it comes to Tan and Sand Green elements), and is an interesting build.

Overall the LEGO Overwatch Bastion (75974) is a fun build and it results in a great display piece. At only 602 pieces, it is larger than I expected and it even threw in some pieces for his companion Ganymede.

While it may not match 75975 Watchpoint: Gibraltar in terms of piece count and price tag, in many ways Bastion feels like the headline set from a LEGO Overwatch range that is not short of big guns. It's obvious the care and attention to detail that has gone into a model that will look fantastic on a shelf, but equally just begs to be picked up and played with. Double the modes is indeed double the enjoyment, with two distinct modes that individually would get into most collections on their own merits. Add an intuitive and fun transformation in-between and the only dilemma will be deciding which mode to display it in when you finally put it down.

I am fairly satisfied with 75974 Bastion, although there are several surprising issues which could have been rectified quite easily. The shoulder articulation, for example, is very limiting for display and I think there was potential to implement an alternative design. The transformation function is not perfect either as the resultant Sentry Mode lacks some important details from the video game.

At a piece count of just above 600, the overall look and feel of Bastion is well executed. When the franchise was announced but before any details were revealed, speculation about Bastion being one of the candidates as a set was quite obvious, given that the character is mechanical with a robotic shape. I do have to admit, while I wasn't quite satisfied initially during the build, the end product grew on me as I started to jot down notes about the completed build.
