really need to see how the thing moves before you buy, it really sells it, add that to the sandman vortex waist coloring and unique spiderman 2099 figure.
Easy to build. Great for playing value. Good collectors value but price is a bit high
76114 Spider-Man's Spider Crawler was reviewed in issue 56 of Blocks Magazine.
I think this is quite a good set. The minifigure selection is not bad (especially with that Spider-Man 2099 minifigure) and the builds are good. Playability is good (with the walking play feature and all the builds) and the value for money seems good to me, with the size of the builds and the number of minifigures.
76114 Spider-Man's Spider Crawler really captured my attention when this set was revealed and it has exceeded my expectations. The scuttling Spider Crawler is indisputably quirky but I am delighted with it, especially given the walking function which has been implemented very well. Both versions of Spider-Man are similarly impressive and I am certain that Spider-Man 2099 will be particularly popular.
Four minifigures for whom three are exclusive and the other redesigned for this latest range makes for a more than credible selection. Combine this with the smaller builds for the two villains and the Spider-Mech itself and there's not a lot to discredit about 76114 Spider-Man's Spider Crawler. It is a set that knows its place within the LEGO Group's need, like all toy manufacturers that hold the Spider-Man licence, to create vehicles for a hero that does not need or use them, and it makes the most of what it can be in spite of this – fun, cleverly constructed and not too serious. Built for play, not display.
