Overall, the LEGO Minifigures: Character Encyclopedia is a very good book and a fun read. It has lots of information and you might even learn some new things that you may not have known about before. It would fit nicely with your other LEGO encyclopedias in your collection.
OK, its not like this is going to take you forever to read. But it is fun to see the figures and hear the tidbits about what made the figure unique in the LEGO line ... like whether or not it was the first or only piece to have "X", or what the letter on the shirt stands for. There are a variety of inside jokes on these figures and that was fun. Maybe you can find that information online, but I do love books, and the little toy soldier (I hope they release him in a series) is really nice.
Overall, this book is fantastic, and I would highly recommend it. But I do have one complaint. There is no mention of the exclusive Olympic Minifigures created for the 2012 Olympics in London featuring British athletes. Granted these exclusive minifigures were only availble in the UK, they still came packaged the same way and are considered Collectible Minifigures.
