I bought this book for my 11 year old son, who loves Lego's and buildings. I am very impressed by the book and it is actually more than I was hoping for. I wanted to inspire him with big idea Lego projects others have built. This book delivers on photos and information about amazing Lego builds. But it also has a large variety of simple to build models using regular pieces you probably have in your Lego bucket. The projects are made to roughly mimic real life objects, mostly buildings, but also some vehicles. Another feature that I really appreciate is that at the top of every page it tells what city the real building is in, and often a bit of information about the building.
Overall, Brick City: Global Icons to Make from LEGO is a nice book with lot of nice builds that represent iconic landmarks. The only criticism is that some of the instructions provided are small and could be somewhat hard to follow if you haven't been building for a while.
Overall, I think this is a great book. It's very easy to flip through, and have hundreds of inspiring LEGO creations at your fingertips. One last thing I would have liked to seen included is a picture of the real life creation the LEGO model represents. I was familiar with 90% of them, but there were a few that I have no idea how good the LEGO model actually is.
