There is just one thing that can be said...awesome. Arrived on time, complete and box with small damages at corners. Good complexity and awesome moving parts. Enough space for two figures. My kid and I enjoyed building it.
The main build has room for two minifigs which makes it fun to fit in with the the City stuff. I like the movable stuff -- the rocket engine, the pop up supercharger and the tailgate. My two nitpicks are: the wheels don't spin as freely as they would if it'd used full axles. The pins feel a bit underweight when compared to the body of the car and the wheels. The addition of one more flat 2x6 to fill the big hole in the floor of the cargo area in the back. My son decided 'dog show winner' (series 17) minifig should be the driver (71019: Cole, navigator) of the rally car but his dog kept falling through the hole in the back.
The Rocket Rally Car is a nice LEGO set. It is a great value, both in terms of the cost-per-brick, as well as in build-time. The car looks really nice, and I love that it can fit two Minifigures sitting side by side. The car looks a little large when Minifigs are placed outside of it, but that doesn't bother me very much. I wish the set had included Minfigures, and that the hatchback raised upwards instead of folding down. For a set that I had not initially intended to buy, I was pleasantly surprised with this one.
These awesome building sets from LEGO CREATOR are really fun because of the 3 in 1 feature allowing kids to choose from the 3 designs to construct. Of course LEGO always gives kids the option to build whatever their hearts desire, but having multiple instructions for designs really makes one toy feel like many toys.
