It is a boat made out of Lego pieces, my son liked it. I am not sure how much more technical can I get? Its water displacement is irrelevant - it does not float. In terms of top speed - with 8 year old pushing it across a table, I would say up to 1 MPH.
The LEGO City Ferry set is a 301-piece set that includes two minifigures: a businesswoman and a ferry boat captain, a ferry with gates that raise and lower, and a tower above the deck for the boat captain. Also included is a red car with wheels that spin and accessories like a mug, a phone, and two fire extinguishers. The car can roll onto the ferry for added realism.
*Pun intented on the top This set is a very good set I like the color scheme and im a big fan of how a car and 2 minifigures come with the set. the boat is nice for any lego MOC or city, and the fact that it could fit two cars that is if you stacked them. the minifigures that are included are the ferry sailor and a lady. the sailor is a great minifgure and so is the lady because of her black widow (marvel) hair piece. the car is also a great touch. also it does clearly state on the box boat does not float. anyways feel free to check out my other reviews. and have a great week.
Overall, this is an average set. I think the price could've been raised to $39.99 and possibly a second car could be added for more playability. The price of this set in New Zealand is quite good though!
I think it's a fantastic set. It's a realistic representation of a real-life vehicle, quick and easy to build and, at 34cm long, an impressively sized model. It's not perfect: another car or some other vehicle would have been welcome, and as I said above, the design of City cars needs some work to make them more realistic, but as for the ferry itself, I don't think it could be improved, other than the provision of a ladder to the captain's cabin.
