My 6 year old son and I built this bad boy in no time. We decided to sort the parts by colors and put them in separate containers for quick access. The instructions were easy to read and follow. We also built two other vehicles from Lego City! And we plan on building many more in the future!!!
An awesome lego set, I got it for my almost 5 y-old who adores volcanoes, and he couldn't be more thrilled. The volcano is great and does take some building. The instructions are very clear and he managed to build the whole thing almost on his own. He does have good motor skill and can be very focused when interested, but still, he's not 5 yet. The instructions are extremely well made, with close-ups and 1:1 size guides to check you picked the right piece. Thumbs up !!

Kids will love building this LEGO City set and pretending to be an adventurer or archaeologist and coming up with their own crazy explorer adventures. The truck is rolls really well and the drill easily opens the boulder. The LEGO mini figures are all designed with the volcano exploration theme in mind and add to the adventurer imaginative play. The walkie-talkie, jackhammer, and metal detector accessories can all be stored on the side of the truck. Just snap in and roll on!
This is a fun vehicle at the price point for play purposes, but is not as satisfying as the more domesticated vehicles available elsewhere in the CITY range.
The way in which LEGO City trucks are designed has taken another step forward with this set and I think it would make a good addition to a generic City scene. However, it is perhaps the least interesting vehicle in the Volcano Explorers subtheme as it is not too dissimilar to the numerous trucks which have been produced in previous years.
