Haven't seen this film yet, but Emmett and Lucy are back. Don't know anything about this one-eyed creature or Ultrakatty, but you can build them from this colorful Lego kit. Ultrakatty comes with three different faces-happy, perturbed and about to bite your face off. Looks like plenty of fun ahead.
Ultrakatty and Warrior Lucy is a great set. Perhaps even my favorite of the LEGO® Movie 2 sets, with the exception of Welcome to Apocalypseburg. This set is a great value, even at full price. You get three main characters from the film, and each of them is really well designed. The only real drawback is that you don't get very many Minifigures. But, all things considered, I love it (so does my wife), and I recommend it.
Took us 30 minutes to assemble. Minifigures include Lucy and Emmet, and you'll build Ultrakatty, which has a minifigure cockpit, a posable head with 3 different facial expressions, and a posable tail and legs.
While it is impossible to relate the set directly to a movie that has not been released, it is a fun set that is good value in terms of new useful parts. Other than Ultrakatty's facial expressions, I think the printed elements have potentially useful applications in other MOCs. The two minifigures will be central characters in the movie and I can see that Reddish Brown shemagh being popular amongst builders for use in military, post-apocalyptic, futuristic and Middle Eastern minifigures.
70827 Ultrakatty & Warrior Lucy is an outstanding set. Ultrakatty looks absolutely spectacular, bristling with more than seventy spikes of varying sizes and colours which appear deadly! The three alternative expressions are excellent and I appreciate the integration of a saddle for a minifigure to ride. However, the leg articulation is somewhat limited by the absence of ball-jointed ankles, unfortunately.
The DUPLO aliens are great foes, despite not actually being made from DUPLO bricks, it's nice to a unique version in this set. The set could almost do without the Minifigures, but it would have been nice to have someone different in place of Emmet. I understand he and Lucy are the franchises main characters, but they feel like they appear in too many sets. It wouldn't be so bad if they were variants but the same minifigures are in numerous sets. Despite that, it was fun to build, even if it is a little tricky to pose.
This is a genuinely inventive new build in The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part theme, and a reminder of just how imaginative the designers get when working on these film projects. Packed full of character with a striking colour scheme, plus two must-have minifigures, 70827 Ultrakatty and Warrior Lucy! should definitely go on The LEGO Movie 2 shopping list.
