This set is very good when it comes to cool looking legs. The color combination was extremely weird, and it made him look out of place. I liked the legs of this set, and also the way they built the arms. When combined with Ketar creature of stone, Pohatu looks a bit like a squid or a vortex like thing. I like the boulder, although it could have been textured the same way as the normal mask. The gears to turn the torso turn smoother than Kopaka's gears for turning the torso. When you put on the golden mask, the color scheme goes crazy and he looks like a T - shirt dude. They could have made the chestplate the same color as the mask as well as the upper legs, but instead they made a strange tan colored blob. Also, the printing on the chestplate is pixilated which looks really ugly and reminds me of an explosion. In the end, this set is not perfect, yet not bad at all. Please tell me what you think.
I really like this set, it has some really cool ways of articulation. I really enjoy being able to put Pohatu in different poses without having to worry he's going to fall. And I also like that there is no stressed pieces wich is very good! Oh I have to mention that this is my first set that uses CCBS (I only did "classic" Lego Star Wars set for a while). But I can't say that this set is flawless it has it's downsides... First off is the boulder in the chain. It is really annoying if you try to pose him. But it is great for the action feature! However I think the chain should be one or two chain pieces longer. And there is one more flaw. Or acually two. One being the spear wich prevents the arms from moving freely and the other being the mask pop-off function. I fixed the spear "problem" by making a sword only out of pieces included in the set. And one last thing the mask pop-off function is great for play! So overall a great set really worth getting!
I'm partial to Pohatu, always have been, and I think the set's decent (it's miles better than, say, Pohatu Phantoka). But compared to 2015's line, he doesn't have as much personality. Even when combined with Ketar, he doesn't look that much better (unlike some of the other Uniters).
I do like pohatu as a standalone set. I think the trans neon green is a bit unnecessary and I would have liked to see the three browns play a more active role here, because I feel like too many colors are fighting to be that "dominant" color. Design wise, he's not too awful, I do like the shoulder build and range of articulation, though from a back view he suffers a bit. Proportions aren't bad, and I find that his extremely detailed torso looks somewhat acceptable in the dark tan, though I wish we had seen some more dark tan to serve as the primary color, possible use those dark tan Vorox armor shells from Ketar.
For all he does good, Pohatu Uniter suffers from many of the same problems that plagued Pohatu 2015. It's great to see brown again, and tan makes a surprise inclusion, but there's not enough of either. His build is solid, but he doesn't introduce anything new that you wouldn't find in, say, Lewa. And the weapon, while amusingly silly, just doesn't feel tough enough to use in a fight. Perhaps the most baffling thing is not making his Skrall armor piece tan, when the part totally exists (and is used in Ketar). It would have gone a long way, even if some other sacrifices would have needed to be made in color distribution.
