This is an awesome, interactive set from LEGO that Batman fans are going to go wild for. From creating exciting adventures to building the versatile vehicles, there's not enough hours in the day to have as much fun with this kit. Even if it weren't a Batman set, kids would still get a kick out of the features the Sewer Smasher set offers. With four minifigures and the Croc big figure, there's lots of possibilities for creative and imaginative play.
Killer Croc Sewer Smash is a great set that not too many people would appreciate. In this set there are three new and exclusive minifigures to this set who are Red Hood, Captain Boomerang, and Katana. Along with a repeat of the Batman minifigure and a new Killer Croc big fig which is nice to get him as a big fig since we haven't got him since 2006.
Bought for my five year old son, who built the set in a full day with occasional help. The set looks good, the croc figure and vehicle are fine. The batmobile in this set looks very good and has good functionality, but the plastic treads that go around the wheels aren't well designed; several of the tread pieces bent or broke not long after the set was assembled, making the treads too loose to assemble properly. If these pieces had been made a little larger/more robust, this would have been an exceptional set.
If you can find this set on liquidation (35% off), it is a great value per brick as well as in terms of build time. At full price, it is not as good a value. The per-brick cost is good, but the build-time is a little expensive. The Minifigures are fun, and come with a good brick-to-Minifig ratio. The biggest drawback of Killer Croc Sewer Smash is the horrible design of Killer Croc's vehicle. It really pulls down the score of this set.
Neither vehicle lived up to expectations. The box makes them look good but the build isn't anything special. The tank is tedious at best and the play features are not the best. I play-tested it with some friends' boys and they got fed up with it after 10 minutes. As I said earlier, the highlight of the set is the minifigures but it's hard to justify spending £70 on 5 minifigures.
Many aspects of this set are very impressive but the appalling design of Killer Croc's Chomper detracts from my enjoyment of the set as a whole. It looks totally unfinished and the play value is also fairly low as the functions do not work as well as expected. However, the Bat-Tank and minifigures are splendid, with a great selection of new characters as well as a fairly detailed model which fits perfectly with the aesthetic of previous Batman vehicles.
