This takes Set of the Year for me – at the moment. And I can see it keeping that title for a long time until the Technic 911 GT3RS comes along which I suspect will do a Barcelona and sweep all and sundry out of the way getting all the glory. But for now I am content in terms of massive builds and I can only wait until 2017 and the next modular to be released as part of this series.

Fantastic set providing hours of quality time with my children. Can't wait to purchase more modular sets for our very own budding Lego City.

This is one of the coolest sets ever. Really detailed, with nifty new elements and lots of functionality. Our 11-year-old is an avid Lego builder and loves it (it was all he wanted for Christmas). He spent 10.5 hours straight building it on Christmas Day. Really an excellent set. I recommend watching the designer video at Lego.com to see the many great details (though the video doesn't even show all the cool hidden stuff).

This is an easy one. It's a modular, it's a rarer corner modular, and as I've mentioned before, there are some excellent parts. This is definitely one to get for the collection.

This set is amazing. It looks really cool, and we just keep discovering new things every time we open it up. There is a lot of detail on this set, plus rare sand-blue and dark green bricks that LEGO fans and collectors are really going to want. While this set is going to look so cool on display, there's a lot of playability here, too. We love that there's a way to break into the bank, and that accessories are included for turning any of the seemingly good-guy minifigures into a hardened criminal. Opportunities for imaginative play abound with this construction set. It is designed for the expert builder, but perhaps that older LEGO fan can share some of the fun with a younger fan.

Recommendation: no 37 / 100 by JackJonespaw

Overall, this set brought me two things - exhaustion of building, which actually wasn't its fault, and enjoyment. Seriously, I really like building this thing. All of the features are very well implemented, everything fits together real nice, and the detail is absolutely astounding. A few marks off for the seeming decrease in detail in the later bags, especially the roof portion, but I suppose that would only raise the price and pieces too much. Still, put together, looking at it from a front-view, it looks really impressive, and I will gladly display this until it gathers a bunch of dust in 1-2 weeks, in which case I'll probably attempt to dust it off before giving up and letting the dust win.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I found the colouring of the building to be a bit bland and dull. I think you can't help but feel a bit bored as a result. Given this is a Bank, maybe that was the plan all along! When I look back at the Detective's Office and Parisian Restaurant they were so vibrant and colourful. Being a corner block, I think it has a little more space inside the building vs other modulars. However, it's still crammed inside making it hard to play around with.

I simply cannot decide where this set ranks among the other Modular Buildings. I love the subject matter and the level of detail is fantastic but the same can be said for 10246 Detective's Office, at least in my opinion. Regardless, it is certainly one of the best and I am delighted that the set lives up to my high expectations. The piece selection is amazing, the set looks spectacular and there are some lovely play features; it really does not get much better than this!
