It's an excellent display piece, and it's an excellent price as well! You are absolutely getting a lot of bricks for your money. I personally liked the build, but other people may or may not enjoy it. So overall, I'm extremely delighted with this set.
The build of the product was a fun build especially with someone else doing a tile each. Even alone I could still enjoy the build, building along with the podcast was such a good insight the Andy Warhol and his work. The finial outcome of the product it perfect and look amazing hung up! It is very tempting to buy and build all four:)
The LEGO Art sets will be perfect for display in your home gallery. Even the instructions have a coffee table book quality to them. We didn't really mind it taking so long because the whole experience was actually quite relaxing. If you're an art lover and a LEGO fan, you'll really enjoy building a work of art using traditional LEGO bricks and circular pieces.
The LEGO ART sets are an interesting addition to the LEGO product range. They are a vastly different build experience to any other LEGO sets, which may appeal beyond traditional LEGO fans. The use of pop culture icons such as The Beatles and Marilyn Monroe extends that appeal to fans of The Beatles, Monroe and Warhol. The build is something you can do whilst watching a movie or better still as you listen to the exclusively created ‘soundtracks'.
However long LEGO Art runs as a theme, this is its standout creation so far and is such a unique set for simply what it is more than for any other consideration a LEGO set may usually go through. 31197 Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe stands as one for collectors, art enthusiasts and LEGO fans alike.
This mosaic is clearly aimed at a particular type of builder, so I understand that it will not appeal to everybody. Heck, even for mosaic builders this is just barely scratching the surface, because we like to go BIG! But if you want a neat introduction into the art of mosaics, and have the time and cash, I think this is a worthwhile build.
