Being a big Disney & Lego fan this was a must to go with the Castle & Steamboat. Some flaws with the stickers so don't expect a perfect finish. Also disappointed there are no instructions on how to link up with smart device. Relatively quick build which was disappointing for the price point, but looks good. Looking forward to getting the train moving when I work out how to connect...
We had a great time building this beauty, and the end result will please any Disney and/or train-fan. The train has a great atmosphere that will also fit in for instance a Christmas display, or even a regular train collection. The station is a good representation of the original, despite the weird Medium Flesh roof. Take off the Disney flags, and you can add it to your LEGO city, so it's not just for Disney fans.
LEGO and Disneyland have been closely associated with trains for more than fifty years and 71044 Disney Train and Station represents an excellent celebration of this shared passion. The locomotive appears highly detailed, surpassing almost any previous steam engine, while the carriages offer ample room for minifigures to ride on board. I am particularly pleased by their increased width and hope that will be replicated in future sets.
There's no question that this set is sure to hook hardcore Disney fans. The Disneyland Railroad is an iconic part of the magic kingdom experience, and was near and dear to Walt's heart. It's difficult to fit that kind of experience into a box, but this set has perhaps come as close as it's possible to get. Even though I don't consider myself a Disneyphile, I found myself a bit nostalgic for the park and wishing I'd ridden the train last time I was there.
71044 Disney Train and Station is an absolute must-buy for those who love the Disney theme parks. For families who have recently been to Disneyland or are planning a trip, it is a perfect way to reminisce or build anticipation together. Beyond those audiences, it is still an excellently realised set that builds a charming train and visually appealing station, sprinkled with Disney magic. All aboard…
I didn't have high expectations for this set. I'm neither a Disney fan nor a train fan. However, this was an enjoyable build, and I have a lot of fun piloting the train through the Powered Up app. In addition to that, the station is splendid and full of Easter eggs and references, and the minifigures are beautiful, especially Minnie.
As a big Disney fan, I love that these sets exist. The Disney Castle was a fun build and certainly one of the most iconic areas of the Disney Parks. The train offers a better play set, compared to the Castle, but it features less of the fun little Disney Easter Eggs. I like that all the Minifigures are uniquely decorated, making them a little more special. But I would have liked a couple more characters to be included, especially considering the price and piece count.
