The pirate ship has lots of moving parts. A bit difficult for younger kids to make. It looks very similar to the one from the movie. It was a big pirate ship.
I think its one of the best Angry Birds set out there, with amazing parts and minifigures!
The entire pirate ship structure is mounted on wheels. When the ship is moved forward and backward, it automatically causes the paddle wheels in the back of the ship to spin, and the oars in the front to row back and forth. The pirate ship also has a winch that raises and lowers the boulder anchor. There's a crane with a net, and a hidden compartment under the wheel-house and galley.
As an adult fan, I can only recommend this to the most adventurous of LEGO fans. The only upside is that you get plenty of brown elements, which I personally love.
The finished model is a lot of fun. Anyone expecting a realistic ship might be disappointed, but I found this cartoonish model to be a great build. Once I was done, my son and I took turns trying to catapult the birds at the piggies. It takes some practice to figure out how to launch Red for any distance, but we had fun trying. In out attempts, Bomb was just too heavy to get airborne. For a kid, the play value is immediately obvious.
This set is a great representation of the ship as it appeared in the Angry Birds Movie.
