I'm a huge fan of Overwatch and this set really did it justice. It's very well detailed and is perfect to display. The only problem I had with it was the paint done on Hanzo's skin. Its very grey and discolored. Other then that though, this is an amazing set!
Hanzo Vs Gengi is a solid buy, even at full price. You get a good cost-per-brick and build-time for the price. Additionally, for a set this size, there is a nice amount of detail, and quite a few Minifigures. Furthermore, this set is close to retirement, so it is not hard to find it on sale either.
75971 is a fairly decent set, but in my view the weakest of the current range. The build is perfectly good and conveys a nice enough scene but it seems a bit empty? Hanzo looks pretty good, even with the printing issues on his torso. His new hair piece looks really nice and is very versatile. I like his face print as well, which is also very useful. Genji looks very good. His prints and suitably shiny and well done, and his new helmet piece is very impressive. The other figure I think is a waste of the set's budget. I'd rather have seen either another hero or more build in the set itself. I know he is seen in the CGI short the set is based off, but he doesn't add much to the set. Maybe swapping him for Zenyatta would have made more sense? Not my favourite set of the range but Hanzo and Genji definitely are good enough.
This set had potential, but it kind of came out just okay. Both the figs and the build, while nice, are not as accurate as they could have been and there's just not that much playability. The Shimada henchman was a nice addition, but kind of unnecessary. If you really need to have Hanzo and Genji in your collection despite their minor flaws or if you just want to add another dojo to your Ninjago layout, you could pick this up on sale, but otherwise I'd say this Overwatch set is pretty skippable.
A good introductory set that gives us a pair of ultra popular LEGO Overwatch characters at a very well adjusted price point that Overwatch fans can get into.
75971 Hanzo vs. Genji contains two outstanding minifigures and the Shimada shrine features some lovely details, although it does not really stand out across the Overwatch theme. I think that can be attributed in part to the existence of NINJAGO, which has already produced some impressive buildings that are inspired by Japanese architecture, as well as the structure's modest size.
The small size and uncomplicated build means that Hanzo vs. Genji may not immediately appeal to general LEGO collectors. However, the way in which key design elements from the in-game map have been taken and simplified into this neat, self-contained vignette is a lesson in economy of design. Meanwhile, the obvious care that has gone into bringing to life the story of two of the game's most tragic heroes will delight Overwatch fans, who certainly won't be drag-on their feet to get their claws on this set.
Overall the LEGO Overwatch Hanzo vs. Genji (75971) is a good smaller sized set with some great looking minifigures. The build is nothing too spectacular but it does have some nice details in the middle.
