Barrel Escape

Great Lego set very playable model. Dwarfs can be locked up and Bilbo can either sneak past elves to open doors up or break out the back of cell. Great detail on the bar. Lot of useful parts. This set contains the larger barrels that the minifig dwarves can get into. The latch releases the barrels so they can escape the elves. This set is a must if trying to get all 13 dwarves, this one contains the brothers Gloin and Oin along with Bilbo Baggins the Hobbit and two elves more less

The Barrel Escape set is pretty nicely designed. There are some some play features but I feel that is set would make a better display piece. There are also many useful pieces for people to use though. I think the main attraction of the set are the minifigures and the weapons that are included. more less

This is not a terribly exciting set to play with, then, but it's well designed and full of useful pieces. Although I've only built three of the Hobbit sets so far, I suspect this may be the weakest of them. Nevertheless, the Hobbit completest will need to buy it for the 4 unique minifigs. more less

This was a really fun set to put together, and it makes a really nice preview set for the second Hobbit movie. It's a little thin with only about 300+ pieces and for the price you're paying, it really leaves you hungry for more. The minifigs, as with most licensed sets these days are the main draw for this set. Parts-wise, we get a lot of great accessories like the One Ring, Sting, Elven swords, wine glasses and bottles and whopping 3 large wooden barrels which are pretty nice to have. The play features are nice bonus additions and I'm pretty glad we don't have any lame flick-fire missiles in this set. As a display set, it's rather average because there are a lot of disparate components like the weapons rack, table and chairs, and mini-wine cask which produces a pretty haphazard when taken in as one. more less
