The Smaug made up the whole value to this set. I bought this because of the dragon and others are a bonus to the set. Smaug is very pose able but need great skill to take good shot of him. Most of the angle makes him look ugly. The build is adequate to the size of the dragon and of course you can buy a few more sets to enlarge it. The minifigures are all exclusive to the set and makes this set much more worthy to get.

This is an awesome set! I had enough extra pieces to make another arkenstone and loads of treasure! If you like to collect the main characters like me, then Smaug is a must have!!

Get this set and don't miss it for the sake and love of Smaug especially if you are a Hobbit fan.

Separating it from being in the wrong movie and the book inaccuracies, this is a good set. It's the only way to get Smaug, and you get some Dwarves and Bilbo with new designs. There's lots of good parts, especially sand green. Is it worth $130? While there's less than 900 pieces, there are a lot of bigger ones, and Smaug adds at least $20 of value on his own. I'm happy with my purchase.

Overall this is a great set for parts, minifigs, and Smaug is an attractive beast to most fans. A decent number of play features mark this as a good playset, and the sand green bricks make it stand out among other less brightly colored sets from the same line. My only complaint is the huge price tag, which is largely a result of including Smaug, whose new parts drive up the production cost.
