I bought 2 of these sets for my kids. They liked them fine to build and play with for a little bit, but this set was not the huge hit I thought it would be.Take note that the current price is much too high for any Lego set of this size. Unless you're a completist that absolutely has to have this set, pass on it.A good standard for Lego set prices is ten to fifteen cents per piece unless it's choke full of minifigures or specialty made pieces.
The set has two minifigures: Cole wearing a kimono and a Stone Swordsman. The Earth Driller itself is pretty sleek looking.
This seems a very solid set for the price, though I do wish it had at least one more play-feature, like rear suspension or a pop-up missile or something. It's a very chunky, heavy vehicle with a huge drill on the front, which I suppose is precisely what you'd want on a real earth driller, but it leaves me wishing for something more. The minifigs are great, and I'll definitely be getting more of the stickered pieces.
I cannot get over how good this set looks. And it has some decent functionality on top of that. Of all the Ninjago sets released this year, this one is my favorite, and I would recommend it to Ninjago fans, steampunk fans, and anybody else who's into vehicles with giant drills on them.
