This is one of the more beautiful sets that I have put together I recent years. The design of the dragon, as well as the movement is truly entrancing. While the actual mechanism could possibly be a little smoother, this would be my sole criticism of the set. Turning the handle to generate the movement brings me joy.

It's so funny that dragon can dance, and very good quality for my son, he is 11 years old, he is excited while he get the LEGO for Chinese New Year!

If you are still thinking and able to see these sets in stores, don't hesitate. Just pick it up first and think of what to do with it later if you end up not liking it. I highly doubt most will not dislike this new festive sets.

It's glorious. For such a comparatively simple set, it looks beautiful, and it's enough. You wouldn't want much more detail to dilute the effect of the dragon. The play factor to me is just an added bonus. The addition of so many new elements and recolours just shows that LEGO is invested in breaking new ground into areas they've not covered as well before. It's very exciting to see what happens from now on.

The LEGO Dragon Dance (80102) along with the LEGO Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner (80102) set are two of the must haves for 2019. Not only does it celebrate the Lunar New Year, it also incorporates kinetics into the model which hasn't been done for a set this size.

80102 Dragon Dance is an exceptional model. It looks absolutely fantastic on display, featuring some excellent printed elements and pieces which have not appeared in their respective colours before. I like the undulating body motion as well. This could have been implemented more smoothly, although the current design looks reasonably realistic when compared with real dragon dance performances. Unfortunately, this set is not available around the world. I can understand why that decision was taken as certain products which target a specific audience, such as Thanksgiving sets, appear to struggle in other regions. However, the extraordinary quality of 80102 Dragon Dance distinguishes it from similar seasonal products and I would definitely recommend adding this set to your collection, if possible.
