That said, the set really shines in the details, such as the emergency box on the building exterior, the well-designed compact kitchen upstairs, the red garage door, attractive exterior lamps, and the Crenellated Cornice details. For these reasons, it feels closer to the level of detail I expect for sets in the Modular Building Series. It stands out compared to other sets in the series—whether that is a good thing or not is up to you to decide.
A nice set, especially if you like the Winter Village sets. It makes a good playing set and may please children more than adults, but in this time of the year we're all children again, isn't it?
10263 Winter Village Fire Station is an excellent addition to the Winter Village subtheme and has far exceeded my expectations! The fire station is highly detailed and its architectural style fits neatly with the other buildings in this series. I absolutely love the combination of dark red and light bluish grey on the exterior and the interior is furnished with everything one might expect to find inside a fire station.
Personally, I am a big fan of the aesthetics of this set. The tower is really lovely. It has its quirks, such as not having a floor. I'd also love to see one that was more of a complete build, versus a façade. But it seems like a pretty nice addition to the series. Sitting next to the rest, it fits right in to the collection.
When the set was first revealed I wasn't overly impressive, it didn't look very festive and to be honest even after building it, I still don't think it shouts Christmas. It needed something a little more than just a few sprigs of holly on the building part of the set. However I really enjoyed the build and as mentioned above, it has loads great use of bits of detail, especially on the outside of the building. The fire truck is simple but looks has a nice vintage appearance. The additional bit of scenery adds an extra level of detail, although I wish they would maintain a standard look for all the street lights used in the Winter Village line. Despite my initial thoughts on the set, I really like it, and can't wait to see how it looks within my Christmas display this year.
The LEGO Creator Winter Village Fire Station (10263) is a well designed set that absolutely fits in to the Winter Village subtheme. The fire station itself has some pretty good details especially with some of the building techniques for the style of the structure however it did get a bit repetitive at the roof area. The light brick gives a lot of personality to the fire station however I wish it was a light switch instead of a push button one so it stay on.
Do you already have a winter village collection? If yes, the Winter Village Fire Station will make a good addition to your winter village. If no, this is a good set to buy as a Christmas gift for AFOLs or for kids as it provides the family with an enjoyable festive build! Perhaps anyone who missed out on the LEGO Fire Brigade can also consider getting this set for the dark red bricks to build their own modular-scale fire brigade.
