With so many treats in store, it is easy to recommend this set. Before building the set, I had expected that it would earn our “Highly Recommended" rating, but I'm happy to report that it's exceeded my initial expectations—#10267 Gingerbread House earned our highest Must Have (5/5 star) rating! Not only is it a great set, but at nearly 1500 pieces for 100$, it's also a great value.
By letting their designers' imaginations run wild, LEGO have yet another hit on their hands with the Gingerbread House, easily making it one of the standout sets of 2019.
What a great set! I've just started collecting adult LEGO Sets this year, for me to build and the family to enjoy. I brought the elf club house a few weeks ago and was surprised at how much fun the build was so when I saw this set with a much higher piece count for $10 more, I grabbed it! The detail is very impressive and I found the build very involved for the size of the set. I can't say I've had roof issues but I can see how you could if you don't pay attention to the build process. I'd recommend This set to anyone looking to loose themselves in a great little build. Awesome set LEGO!
Once again, the LEGO design team has risen to the challenge of providing a Christmas set that lives up to the expectation that has been created by the many excellent models that have gone before. At the price and piece count, it is hard to imagine what more could have been achieved – the set balances display and play perfectly, deserving a place on everyone's shelf alongside the rest of the Christmas decorations this year.
The Gingerbread House is a lovely set that perfectly captures the Christmas spirit. It's colourful, has a striking design, and makes an original addition to the Winter Village.
While I had my doubts on whether I was going to like this set from the visuals released, building the set certainly changed my mind. Setting aside the lack of minifigures, the Gingerbread House is a lovely addition to the Winter Village series. Everything from the journey of building to the finish is well thought out and planned. The parts all seemingly flow together well, no space is wasted, and the compact design gives it a great finished look.
The final set isn't as impressive as I thought it would be. Yes the roof is amazing, and aesthetically it looks great, it just seems smaller than I was expecting. Infact the first thing my wife said to me was "It's a lot smaller than it looks on the box." Especially considering the part count for this set (the second highest of any Winter Village set).
10267 Gingerbread House represents an interesting departure from many earlier Winter Village sets, favouring fantasy over realism. However, the model looks absolutely wonderful in my view. It certainly captures the essential features of traditional gingerbread houses, including icing and colourful buttons which decorate the roofs while the walls incorporate striped candy cane designs.
Although I haven't built every one of the Winter Village sets, I've built most of them and I have to say this is my favourite. It's a great build, with some great techniques used to create the structure and much of its details.
