I think this is a fantastic set, which wasn't made only for Harley-Davidson fans! It features some really nice building techniques, SNOT (studs not on top) details, and some complicated triangular shapes around the engine, so I think the building experience will be perfect for every AFOL.
As an avid motorcyclist and avid lego builder, I was thrilled when lego and Harley Davidson came together and designed this Fat Boy. I hope this is the first of many motorcycle models. I foiund the kit very challenging and enjoyable to build. The attention to detail is very realistic. The completed model sits on my shelf with other motorcycle memorabilia. Lego, keep up the good work.
Ordered 2 kits from Lego VIP program. Missing many blocks from both kits. Missing same 2 unique/critical blocks from both kits. Kit # not on replacement block program. Kit # not on Lego Life app. No response from Lego Support. Review on Lego website blocked/censored. That all said, if I ever get the missing blocks, it looks like a beautiful kit, but as a lifelong Lego fan, I'm very disappointed. 8/10/19 update. Yes, the kit finally became available on the missing block program and a little over a week later the blocks arrived and I finished the first kit. Yes, it's a beautiful kit and everyone who has seen the finished one has been impressed. The missing blocks and the delays in getting replacements took a lot of the enjoyment out of building this tho.

If you're looking for an accessible Creator Expert set that's a lot of fun to build, and looks great on display, look no further than the Harley-Davidson.
LEGO has produced various motorcycles exceeding minifigure scale but this example is undoubtedly my favourite. It seems remarkably realistic when compared with the source material and looks superb on display, matching the exceptionally high standard established by previous Creator Expert sets. The construction process is also enjoyable, seamlessly combining System pieces with Technic.
While 10269 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy is unlike any previous LEGO Creator Expert vehicle, that is by no means a bad thing. The larger scale the motorcycle is built at has allowed the inclusion of many brick-built details, which I enjoy seeing in sets. The play functions also help to further differentiate the set from what's come before. The building experience is not particularly challenging for experienced builders, but it is still quite satisfying.
Without a doubt, I feel like the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy is one of the best LEGO motorcycles to date, if not the best. It presents an enjoyable build from start to finish and, while I wish the bike had “x-ray vision," the working pistons are such an amazing feature. For those who aren't motorcycle enthusiasts, the Fat Boy offers an excellent selection of parts for custom models, particularly if you are looking for dark red. The fact that many of them are elements appearing in dark red for the first time is a plus.
This is a well-designed set and truly a joy to build. I LOVED the build process on this. It blends Technic and System magnificently both visually and in build techniques. Mike Psiaki had a tough challenge, translating the angles and curves of a modern motorcycle into Lego, but he met it. Even the staff at an HD dealer said they were looking forward to picking the set up! If you don't have around twenty thousand bucks to drop on the real thing, get the Lego version for about half a percent of the price.
LEGO Creator Expert 10269 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy is never going to match the top speed or horse power of the real life legendary Fat Boy, but it certainly has it where it counts. It is an utter pleasure from start to finish, even before getting it out of the box, and it looks absolutely wonderful on display. If those engine pieces were in chrome or metallic silver it would have have lifted this from being excellent to almost perfect. Niggles aside, LEGO and Harley Davidson fans will get immense enjoyment from the set.
