LEGO, is by far the best block manufacture, the blocks fit tight and the look of the finished product looks complete. I enjoy the building of the kits, and I enjoy the information in the instructional book. Lego provides a nugget of knowledge on each building in the skyline. Great!

I enjoy seeing Berlin resting on top of my fridge while I investigate putting it up on my wall; it's definitely a display piece. Not too difficult to put together; there's a lot of fiddly bits, but if you get them organised, even a novice should manage relatively easily. The instructions are extensive to the point of being overdone. The Deutsche Bahn Tower and TV Tower are both a bit wobbly, but not the end of the world. Overall, I'm very pleased.

I was much more pleased with the final product that I expected I would be. The box art and promotional pictures don't do justice to the differences in height between all five buildings. The Berlin TV tower looms high above the rest of the skyline, and really adds to the sense of scale when you see the final model in person. Ultimately, the fact that the build itself isn't anything special knocks a couple points off its review. But the final model more than speaks for itself, and is totally worth the purchase whether you intend to display it at home, or cannibalize it for parts.

At first glance, you might felt this is a pretty unappealing LEGO Architecture set as it appear as a remix blend with numerous of micro landmarks of Berlin. After building it, I felt rather satisfied with the entire built. The choice and placement of these iconic sights made me visit and read the history of Berlin, Germany in much greater keen interest. The Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate stood out to me.

Overall, the LEGO Architecture Berlin (21027) skyline set is a pretty neat one. Honestly, I don't really see anything in the set that is negative. Every building/structure is spot on with their small scale recreation.

I feel odd describing the Berlin Wall as being charming and delightful, but that's just what I feel about its appearance in the set, in the form of three printed 1x2 panels. I presume TLG chose to print pictures on the panels as a reference to the East Side Gallery, a preserved section of the Berlin Wall which was painted with over a hundred artworks in 1990.

I loved this set. I loved the breadth in building, and the amount of pieces, small as the quantities were, in their variety. I'd suggest getting this set, but if you're inclined to go for another one that's more your taste, it might be as varied as this one but be a better fit for you.

It looks as if LEGO has another winner on its hands here. However I will court controversy by saying that I don't think the buildings are as well known or iconic as those in Venice so perhaps the set won't be as popular, especially outside of Germany. Nevertheless, there's a lot for the LEGO Architecture fan to relish and I suspect these cityscapes will be highly collectable, regardless of whether you are familiar with the cities and buildings portrayed or not.

The Berlin Wall and the glass dome on the Reichstag building are great examples of the juxtaposition of traditional and modern architecture in this set, and Berlin's skyline wouldn't be complete without the 368 meter Berlin TV Tower. But I really dislike the black obelisk of a structure that's supposed to be the Deutsche Bahn Tower. Although I've never been to Berlin, a quick image search online seems to show that the BahnTower's facing is blue-green glass, not black like genuinely black skyscrapers such as Columbia Tower here in Seattle or Sears Tower in Chicago. I would love to have seen what the set designers could have done with trans-light blue on something like a black core.
