I bought this online to bulk up my brick collection and due to it being on offer it was a great buy. This is great for builders like myself looking to bulk up their parts or builders just starting out as the variety of bricks, minifigs and accessories allow you to build a wide range of things. It's for this reason I buy and recommend the classic boxes, even more so when there on offer !

Having kids = an excuse to play with LEGO's again! (Not that it's really stopped me before) Anyways, I've yet to figure out the whole "mission to mars" naming of this set, there's only one "space" related model that I found. It doesn't really matter, they could have simply called this the "red box edition" and it would still be a great addition/starter set to anyone's LEGO collection. The fact that it comes with it's own storage box is nice, and there's plenty of room to store even more kits in this case. It'll save you from needing to find a plastic bucket eventually. The booklet has several fun ideas to get you started, and more than enough pieces to let the imagination run wild! In our house, after we (me, my 9 and 4 yr old) build a model I like to keep the instructions in a Ziploc bag to use again if so chosen, or if one of them gets upset that one was "broken". This set will provide countless hours of quiet imaginative playtime.
