Our 3 year old SON has spent HOURS playing with this train set! He builds it, takes it apart, and builds it again! The extra prices can be used to make a tunnel, a tree, or his favorite, a delivery! He stacks them up and puts the on the train car to be delivered!My little boy recently discovered Lego Duplo, and he loves this particular one better than all of the other Duplo toys! He loves looking at the pictures on the box and copying them, or making a super big train, and this has lots of sets of wheels, so its his fave. Very durable, bright colors, perfect! it's not only fun to play with but is educational as well and is child safe. I highly recommend this toy for a three year old who is a quick learner.

you might buy this number train as a first duplo train for your child... after few months you might want to buy some rails for this train, and then: surprise! this number train is not compatible with rails (point junctions too narrow) so its really a shame! you'd need to buy a set with new train made specially for rails
