Creative Builder Box

Have an 8 year old grandson. In the past I purchased packaged items, like a space ship, a dragon, etc. The directions were hard for him to follow, and he required adult assistance. He did not like that. Once assembled, he never played with it again, and he was afraid it would come apart and he would not be able to figure out how to re-assemble it. HOWEVER, this kit has a zillion basic parts, and he can use his imagination to build and re-build and modify anything, BY HIMSELF. He loves it. more less

I know that this set is on the way out but this is one box that's actually cheaper on the Lego website than in the big department store chains. My son and I liked this set because of what it adds to house and neighbourhood building experiences. There's plenty of vehicle sets but few dedicated house sets. more less

I really like this Classic box. Compared to previous years, the piece count is made up with elements that are truly useful. Especially for constructing buildings of various types. The absence of any wheel elements is interesting, but I think that this takes us back to the era of themed brick boxes, such were seen in in the mid 2000's. Leaving the wheels and eyes, which have previously featured in this level set, and including them in the ‘Color' Creative boxes gives you a good collection of parts now, plus an inexpensive way for your child to add to their collection with other moving parts. more less
