My 9-year-old granddaughter and I had so much fun putting this together! (I maiinly watched while her hands literally flew putting it together.) And the biggest benefit for her was that once she assembled it according to the directions, she decided to make her own "improvements", moving things around into many different scenarios. We are trying to help her learn to focus on what she is doing as her mind frequently wanders away. She worked with this set one whole day and the next morning and never once lost focus. It is probably THE BEST gift I have ever bought her and plan to purchase another set for her birthday!

The Brothers Brick

This set has the most interesting exterior of the sets we reviewed. But the interior is really good as well. It has a display case w/register, booth for customers and small kitchen area. The forks and knives will be useful and the mixer has some interesting connection points that I'm sure will enable it to take a place among its greeblish brethern. My main complaint with the set was the new cupcake pieces.
