Lego certainly decided to make a unique new set! It combines the ideas of previous sets into a fun and new way. They've done a few monster trucks before and various food trucks but never combined them until now! What better way to sell burgers than from a Monster truck!? You get a family of figures and a food truck employee/driver. This set is from the creator line that includes directions to make two other sets with the same pieces so you can build other things as well. My nephew and I were very happy with the monster burger truck though. We definitely both would recommend it to any other Lego lovers out there! :)
I love LEGO cars/trucks. My inner child enjoyed this set a lot. Good clearance, a little goofy, and a killer van, what else could you want.
I bought the Monster Burger Truck because it appealed to me as a new, quirky idea. The kit did not disappoint. It is a fun, well executed idea. Additionally, there is a good amount of detail and thought that went into this set. My only major complaint is that it did not include enough Minifigures. A set this size should have at least three.
The draw here is very much the monster truck main build, which is a fun and appealing concept, well-executed in design with some really good features and functions. Even without a second alternative set of wheels, it still provides a solid selection of parts and colours. And really, who could say no to that awesome little doggo. Give him a burger. He's earned it.
I like the off-roader vehicle but I'm not a fan of the final tractor build. It doesn't feel as finished as the other two builds and looks a little odd as well. But if like me, you are drawn to the set for the lead build, you won't be disappointed.
Overall, this is a great build; surprisingly large, fun to “drive", and a decent amount of features to play with. Aimed at ages 8 plus, I think most people would not be disappointed.
I liked this set a lot. Mainly due to the A Model. It is so fun and well designed. Both the B and C models are a nice way to kill some time building LEGO but neither are that great that you'd keep them built to display or play with, unlike the A Model.
As an adult fan of LEGO, this wouldn't necessarily be in my shopping cart for purchase of my own. Is this then worth for parts for any custom build? I would say your mileage may vary indeed. I did spot some parts that I would love to add to my collection but I doubt I'd purchase the whole set just for those specific parts. Having said that, if it's a gift for a niece or nephew or a Christmas present for a young one, it's now given me something to consider.
