I love this set, it's just so much fun! The hamsters are adorable and both are currently exclusive! There's a lot of other interesting pieces included too such as the party invitation, three party hats, the yellow bike, the purple jumper plates and the present pieces. The builds are okay, the train is more fun than anything, it looks great when it's full. The hamster build looks good. The post box was a nice addition that didn't have to be included. Stephanie's normal outfit is fine here, but since her torso is currently available in three sets a new "party" outfit would've been nice. I really recommend this set to everyone (especially Friends fans), there's just so much to like. It's by far the best party set and if you can only get one choose this!
My almost 5 yo daughter loved this set. She and her older sister had fun pushing the train around and having the hamsters going down the slide. They've requested more of the "party" sets. She was able to build it on her own--just right for her, but probably too easy for older kids who want more complex builds.
The set is a great template for your own imaginative play and building. I don't think anything here is set very firmly to any particular story. Most of it doesn't make much sense from a grown-up point of view, but it's a great selection of parts with lots of variety and I think it can go very far for the low size and price. I am not going to estimate brick value here because there is more to it than that, This will be someones first LEGO set, any they'll always remember that funky, hamster-powered bike train.
I believe the bike piece is new, in a bright cheery yellow. Following that is the three train cars, each with the capability of holding a hamster or present (or anything else someone would want to bring to the party. The train has sidebars in bright blue and yellow and is finished at the end with more cheery balloons. It certainly looks like Andrea will have some guests for her party!
