Got this LEGO set for my four year old daughter who normally likes princesses over blocks or LEGO's, to help encourage her fine motor and building skills. She mainly put it together with some help from me and my husband and occupied her for a few days straight. There's many different ways to play with the set and move things around to play different ways, but I think she's very happy with how it looks when she originally made it, that she's a little scared to mess with it and break it.I'm sure we will be breaking it down and rebuilding it soon. The top magic carpet manually spins around, too!
I normally do not purchase the Disney lego line, but after seeing Aladdin (and loving it!) i had to buy the corresponding lego set. The mini-Dolls and carpet are awesome. The structure uses a lot of the colors seen in the movie, so I think it's a pretty good rendition of the palace and town. It's fun to add something so colorful to my collection. I love the doorway pieces and the bright details. As I am an adult collector, I will be adding details and modifications, but I think this is a great set for younger fans. $30 felt a bit steep, but I managed to find it on sale ($23 felt a lot more reasonable). Overall, I would recommend this set, and hopefully Lego will do another Aladdin scene in the future! (Maybe something including Jafar or the Genie!).
41161 Aladdin's and Jasmine's Palace is a very fun set to play with which also looks good on display. With only 193 pieces, and many of the details relying on stickers, it is probably one to look out for in a sale.
