my daughter loved this!!! she saw it in a lego magazine and wanted to buy it!
This set sparks imagination, provides endless build-and-play fun, and kids can get creative! What's great is that everything fits back in the cubes for easy-on-the-go fun!
As for the target market, my daughter loved these. The small dioramas inside each cube provided enough accessories for her creative play, and her and my son spent a while playing with one each while I was preparing their dinner.
I'm not sure what the average 6+ child gets for pocket money these days but they are marketed as "the perfect impulse reward, birthday gift or holiday gift for kids aged 6+" and they seem to hit the mark in this respect. They will undoubtedly have both play and collecting value given their low price point and inclusion of both mini-dolls and play scenes.
For the target audience, these cubes will be perfect for building and playing on the go. Heck, I'd even take it to show-and-tell at my school (if I was young again ... ah, memories of AP Chemistry class). For AFOLs the newness of some type of container always intrigues. Lots of clever builds will show up soon, I think.
