I love these pet cubes so much they are so worth every dollar .I would highly recommend. The surprise element is so much fun and they are so cute. I am so thankful Lego made a series 2. My daughter loved series 1 and she was so excited about series 2 and loves them both. I think these are great stocking stuffers or Easter basket gifts. Also Lego is making a series 3 and I'm sure you have animals all picked out but I think a penguin and hedgehog would be cool animals to make for these pet cubes.
Of course, the animals are cute, though the colours are unusual. It's nice to see the minidolls in new outfits, and the builds are detailed. However, I'm left with more questions than anything else. Was there nothing else that could be used for a series other than shopping? How does a teddy bear qualify as a pet? Will Olivia make a science experiment featuring sugar? Why is an alpaca at a toy store?
I'm always amazed at what the LEGO Designers manage to build with the fewest parts -- the "model train" toy and "model airplane" toy for sale in her store are both very succinct. The train caboose is too, yet almost overlooked when you add the "stuffed" Alpaca. Just for learning the miniature design/build techniques, I'd recommend this cube for any LEGO fan. Everyone loves a toy store, right? You could create you own designs to add, or fill it with LEGO Teddy Bears!
