I never had girl legos when I was little and this was so much fun to build with my 6 year old daughter!! It was just complicated enough to be fun and not frustrating at all! I love how you can open the top to access the seats inside. My favorite part was the hidden Poop piece under the toilet, that you would not know unless you built it!!! So funny! I also loved the blender and coffee maker!!!
Heartlake City Airplane (41429) is a solid set. The airplane features a lot of detail, except for the lack of an outer door. Additionally, the kit comes with a lot of accessories. Personally, I do not like mini dolls, but these are probably fine for fans of the Friends theme. The value is within the range I consider to be average but leans towards to pricier side.
In many ways, I like this set better than either 41100 or 41109. This plane is a nice size, although I think the tail rudder is still on the small side, it's nowhere near as tiny as the tail rudder on 41100 Heartlake Private Jet. My only quibble is that the plane isn't big enough to fit all five Friends (as passengers - if one of them was the pilot, they'd be all set). I like that the stairs included in the set lines up very well with the flipped up opening on the side of the plane.
I like both the Passenger Airplane and the Heartlake City Airplane. However, from an AFOL perspective, I would choose the Passenger Airplane if I had to pick only one. The main reason I want airplanes is to hang them over my city display. Passenger Airplane looks a little better and more realistically proportioned from the outside. Conversely, Heartlake City Airplane comes at a lower price and an overall better value. Either way, you get a fun airplane. I think AFOLs looking for a display piece will like the City version more though.
It's swooshable -- just like you want your LEGO airplanes to be! Yet, it's also heavily packed with details that we love about Friends sets. Realism of right-of-way lights, leading edge and tip angles on the wings, rotating front wheel -- nice cockpit parts usage -- make this a great aviation LEGO build. Plus, the dual hinged sections within the roof to create overhead compartments are just super!
