We loved this cute movie set! My 6 year old daughter worked with me to put it together, and she was actually able to follow the instructions and put most of it together herself. There really weren't any pieces that were tricky to put together. They all seemed to fit together easily. It was a very clever design allowing for the outside and inside of the theater and for the front to open up to the theater part. And my kids loved that they could put my phone in for the screen and actually watch a movie. I also really loved that there was a cleverly placed bathroom in it. Such a fun set!
This visually stunning theater set will go great alongside the many HLC shops and restaurants. Although we had an outdoor drive-in theater in the Drifting Diner, it's great to get a proper cinema with seats. Mia's Cube was also nice for that small of a build, and fans really liked it -- so I'm sure they will like this set too. The added functions will surely delight the target audience -- yet even AFOLs can gain building skills for interactive ideas and creating modules for MOCs.
Those who were hoping that this would be a more complete building will be disappointed. Friends buildings are known for being open, and this set feels much more open than most. For those who are looking to build their own theatre, I think the front of the building is a great start, and the seating area is quite comfortable, but some extra work would need to be done for the lobby area.
It's not that it's a bad set. For the price, it's a decent build, with some nice micro-builds. Kids will probably like it, but I was just wanting some more than it offers.
