Fun to build a not hard at all. I am glad they don't do the base the same as they do in the later series.
This Brick Headz of Kylo Ren is definitely the best Star Wars one so far. It's a fun, easy build but there's a lot of attention to detail even in a set so small. The printing on the pieces is amazing, even Ren's belt buckle is printed for movie accuracy. Ren's cape has a good shape and he comes with his lightsaber. The hair on this figure is extremely detailed and layered, making the figure even more realistic. Although I think it would be better if the very top piece was a tile rather than a normal brick. Two more printed pieces recreate Ren's scar on his face. I love this set and I would recommend it to any Kylo Ren or Star Wars fan!
I'm completely sold on this series of LEGO, it offers something completely different from other LEGO sets, it offers something collectible but displayable. This set is great, but I'll be honest in saying I would have preferred a Kylo Ren based on his look from the Force Awakens, since I just love his helmet look. But I really love this figure and I'm sure its quickly going to be a staple on my collectors shelves.
Overall, I think this BrickHeadz is quite good. Kylo Ren looks nice and is accurate to his appearance in Episode VIII. I particularly like how his messy hairstyle has been done in LEGO form. However, he does look a little bit plain with the all-black color scheme, and there isn't anything amazing that makes him really stand out compared to other BrickHeadz.
Overall I feel for £9.99 it offers value for money. These are not really models you would ‘play' with in the conventional sense, they are definitely designed more for display so I feel it harsh to mark them down too much for that. The build was good fun and the likeness to Kylo Ren is stylised but spot on.
The BrickHeadz range is certainly not for everyone but I enjoy these stylised models and am pleased with 41603 Kylo Ren. His black robes look rather imposing and the hairstyle is appropriately unkempt, using a selection of curved slopes and wedge plates. I like this combination of smooth and studded surfaces as well as the distinctive strands of hair hanging down over Kylo's forehead.
