An excellent rating, this set is not one to pass up. If nothing else, the minifigs are totally worth it, but there's also a great deal of useful parts. Plus, the set's play/display value is great. Highly recommended for pirate fans or otherwise.

This set is great for someone looking to revisit their old love of Lego. What you get is a building, moving parts, five mini-figures (two of them have double sided printing of faces), and two modes of transport. I also liked the details. They provide a small water bucket, barrel lids, and a keg nozzle. The set also comes with a mouse and a spider. The only complaints I have is that if you place the rum barrels like you are supposed to, they may get lost. I also had a lot of extra pieces. But over all, it's a great introductory set.

I enjoyed this set pretty much and at the same time, facing quite a fair bit of disappoints as well. Firstly, I love both of the wagon vehicles. Both designs are much beautiful and useful. In addition, the tavern was also another good reason to get it due to its many useful small and printed parts. The amount of minifigures were quite generous too. But, ultimately, the lack of gold bar which was mentioned above and the incomplete tavern built, that pulled down my ratings for this set.

This set is kind of curious for me. The minifigs strike me as something you could really use a bunch of if you wanted to build a scene or MOC based on the American Revolution. A lot of these figures feel like they'd drop right in to something like that. This may be the worst set in the PotC line, only saved by having some good generic minifigs to toss around.
