This model is absolutely brilliant, and sits on my display shelf with pride. There is a different model to create with this, but being a 4×4 fan, I can't bring myself to dismantle it yet. I'm thrilled with this set. The travel is incredible, it looks mean, and can take a beating. There's some great parts in there for vehicle fans, it's definitely useable, the build is great – not repetitive at all, and it's just great to look at.
So. A Supercar replacement on a budget? I'd say yes – it's not better than 8860 but it is better value. 8/10. It should suit most Technic building petrolheads, including TLCB's good friend Thomas.
Awesome Set! The price is really decent for the size of the final build, and the building process was a lot of fun as well, the truck having a fully independent working suspension is also a very cool feature, it makes the whole truck very enjoyable to play with. The box had a very noticeable dent going through the center (some people can get bothered by that so I thought I'd mention it), but other than that everything was perfect, I highly recommend this Technic set!one last thing i would like to mention: the rims you get with this set have a different design if you reverse them, I personally think they look way cooler if you put them reversed, I included photos if anyone would like to see and compare.
The set is a big pile of 'meh'. It could have been better, but its just average, and doesn't have much realism. It provides a ton of modification possibilities (perhaps this was TLG's intent with this set hence the "Customized" name) and I would love to sit for hours and modify it into something better, but it also fills the function of expensive parts pack, and that's what I will probably be using mine for.
