Somehow I've ended up liking this set more than the last Hogwarts, but I guess it makes sense. That set was too big and expensive to have as much disappointment as it did, whereas this one is smaller and so has less things to fault. The finished model really is perfect for display, and some of the interior has enough charm to keep this grade on the higher end. It may not be everybody's thing, but I feel this set is certainly worth picking up.

This was for my 10yr old daughter just getting into Harry Potter. She mentioned that it was just part of a much bigger set, like this is the add on. We don't have the other set but she loves this anyway. She likes all the little rooms and mini figures that come with it. She role plays by herself and when her friends who are Harry Potter fans come over. It is fun for her to take it apart and rebuild it too. She never played Lego's before even though we have tons with our boys so I am glad this set has caught her interest.

This set is really best as an augmentation for 4842 Hogwarts Castle as you'll have many of the best-known scenes and characters covered between the two.
