Finally a realistic looking bulldozer! This set not only looks great but also functions very realistically. The tracks are a little tedious and time consuming but really make the set that much better. Price per brick is a little skewed seeing how 84 bricks are the tracks. I got it on sale for 35% off so that made it a lot easier to digest.
This is an awesome build with lots of fun features. The fiddliest part is assembling the track, but the payoff is worth it. Having a working track adds a lot to the immersion. I like that the front scoop can be adjusted forward/back as well as up/down. There are some fun construction techniques that add to the build. While not totally SNOT construction, it's fairly realistic looking when fully assembled. Not such a fan of stickers, but it's not too bad on an affordable set like this. Would much rather prefer printed blocks, but stickers keep the cost down. Nice that it comes with two figures, and not the generic faces. I like that the helmets have hair and headphone accessories to increase the realism instead of just plain hard hats. Finally, I like that there is a little demolition area to blow up with dynamite pieces, as well as some other construction accessories to round it out. Not bad for $25!
A good model and build but not quite 'great'. The figs and accessories do however, make up for some of the minor issues with the 'dozer. If you can get it for less than RRP you'll probably be very happy with it.
Pricewise this set is a little steep in my opinion, but it's pretty fun. The bulldozer doesn't move all that well with it's wheel mechanism, but that might be because I have it a little too tight. I'll have to add the tracks in to check it.
I would certainly recommend the set to those looking to add a construction site to their LEGO city and there are some pretty useful parts including a red wheelbarrow, some dynamite and quite a few dark red pieces. The new hard hat with ear defenders and rare combined hard hat and hair pieces are great too, although obviously more specialised and only really useful for construction minifigures.
