This is the 2016 version, but we have bought the for the past two years. This has become a tradition for our son, and one he gets very excited about. I always dream of being a Pinterest mom and making a cute advent calendar for him, but this is so much easier and I am sure he enjoys it more then anything I could make. This is such a fun way to get different Lego figures since they are usually the child's favorite part of the set anyway.

This is a brand new LEGO City Advent Calendar, one that will be fun if you've been collecting the previous LEGO City Advent Calendar sets or if you do an Advent Calendar tradition every year and like building with LEGO. It's a fun surprise to open the calendar's doors and see what sets you're getting. This is a fun and buildable Christmas countdown that gives LEGO fans something to play with in their LEGO City collections even after the holiday season.

It's been an interesting one, with a combination of themes thrown in together – Fire and Volcano Explorers. I think it was a little odd, as there's no real link, but it does mean I get my first Volcano Explorers minifigures, so that's ok in my book. We've had some pretty good models this year, like the snowmobile, and a fair few odd ones (think the shopfronts), but it's been fun.
