I was looking at 3 boat sets on amazon. I saw that this was an 11 inch boat with 144 pieces. My grandson liked it and I thought $55 was alot but it must be a bigger set than I realized. I am NOT new to Legos, however I guess I am new to hard to find sets or very overpriced sets. Do not pay $55 for this set. Legos are ALWAYS a great gift but this set is VERY overpriced. I would love to return it but don't want to disappoint my grandson for his birthday. Just buyer beware: don't pay $55 for such a small box of legos. I feel like I've been robbed.

True North Bricks

Recommendation: no 80 / 100 by Tom

At full price, LEGO's Fishing Boat is a worthwhile purchase. It is expensive in terms of each brick and in terms of the amount of build time that you get. But, you get some nice Minifigures and accessories. The boat itself is also nicely designed, and makes a nice addition to any beach scene (especially if you need a boat for the Old Fishing Store to rent out).

This is a great value set which looks good and also has more playability than I was expecting. This review set found itself moored near the Spider-Man Bridge Battle set after which it was pirated by Green Goblin and Kraven the Hunter who, after making their getaway, spent an afternoon fishing just off the coast – a wonderful endorsement if ever there was one.

City sets at this price point continue to impress. The model is highly detailed and includes all of the features one would expect of a fishing boat as well as some interesting pieces. I love the colour scheme and the vessel offers superb play value, although it would have been even better with a printed hull in my opinion.
