This set is awesome because the bus is highly detailed, customizable on the inside (it can actually fit a lego wheelchair or stroller with a baby), the news stand is great because it has a lot of detail and convenient items to purchase, and then there's the actually bus stop with wheelchair ramp, bike rack, recycle bin and a bench. There are 6 different lego figures included in this set plus a dog! The most collectible part of this set is the wheelchair as it's only appeared in a couple lego sets that have ever been made!I hope my review and photos help you in some way!
I like Bus Station for the most part. The newsstand could have used a little je-ne-sais-quoi, and the bus' roof needs an overhaul. But, overall, the bus looks good, as does the bus stop. This set is pretty expensive for what you get though. Despite an amazing brick-to-fig ratio, you are paying a hefty $0.18 per brick, and you don't get much build time for that price tag. This is definitely one to buy on sale.
I was really happy to acquire this set, because it just felt necessary to have a bus in my Lego City. I also really liked the fact of the inclusion of the newsstand and a nice bus station and of course, the bus. In a nutshell: Pros: -Interior design as well as exterior design of bus is very enticing to play with. -Newsstand and bus station are good inclusions as extra stuff to add to your city or just to play with. -Love the inclusion of doors for people in wheelchairs and baby carriage. -Lots of minifigures! Cons: -Price to part ratio is a little high. - In order to access the interior of the bus, you have to take off the pieces that make up the roof of the bus. This is not easy and sometimes results in me taking off too many pieces. However, don't let the cons take away from this set. It's still awesome to own and I would recommend it to anybody. It's always nice to see Lego go for some "normal life" sets. The price might be a little high, but I think all in all, it's worth it. Great job Lego, another satisfied customer!
The main challenge that this set has to overcome is its price tag. At only 337 pieces, and with the bus being the only part of this set which is up to snuff quality wise, the set feels like a bit of a rip off. If you are lucky enough to have one of the previous LEGO buses, this set is not something you need to fork more cash over for unless more public transport is something you are looking for. If you do not have any other buses, this is a fine vehicle which will add a nice touch to your CITY streets – but it doesn't feel like a great deal.
This is an attractive set full of bright colours that yields six useful minifigs and ample play opportunities. However, I am not entirely satisfied with it. It's a shame the newsstand is not integrated into the bus stop to make it a more substantial structure. That then may have made it worthy of the 'bus station' title.
