I'm finally getting into Legos as an adult. It's a good thing I have kids, so it doesn't maybe look so strange. I just never played with them as a girl, as they were considered to be "for boys." While maybe not as imaginative as some of the other sets I've seen, this is still a really fun build with some super-cute details. The entire build is the safari vehicle, which of course has all the details you'd expect: roof rack, antenna, lots of windows for observation, headlights. The wheels roll very, very well. The decorative stickers really complete the look, complete with the safari company's logo.My favorite part? It has to be the Lego dude's face: he can look more calm and relaxed or you can turn his head around and he looks freaked out. That's fun!
Safari truck: It can hold up to 3 minifigures (Maybe even four?) The zebra patterning on the truck is really effective. It would be better if there was a clip on the truck for the tree disguise to clip to, instead of using studs (but this is a minor issue). There is an attachment for a ball joint on the back for a trailer if you had one. Animals: First of all, the lioness - fantastic. Now to the parrot - the parrot is good, but the marbling could be improved. Overall, the set is incredible and well worth it. A small tree would have been nice for the parrot however. (Hopefully more zoo/wildlife sets soon? A male companion for the lionness?)
Safari Off-roader really took me back down memory lane. However, I appreciate that many readers will not feel the same connection to this set. All the same, I think this is a solid purchase even at full price. The value and build are average, but you get amazing characters and a good-looking SUV. Additionally, this is the cheapest kit to feature a big cat.
All of these sets have a lot of cool features that bring a construction scene, a safari, or a rescue scene to life. There are lots of storytelling possibilities with each one. Any one of these would make a nice addition to a LEGO City collection.
With this nice mix of a decent vehicle, desirable animal and fun accessory build, 60267 Safari Off-Roader is a set that is easy to recommend. The highlights that animals do not often come in sets this small, making the opportunity to get a big cat in £17.99 set one worth jumping at.
60267 Safari Off-Roader represents an impressive addition to the City range. The focal truck features many authentic details and its colour scheme is exceptionally striking, standing out beside recent sets from this theme while recalling historic designs, such as 6672 Safari Off-Road Vehicle. I am especially satisfied with the angular styling which definitely corresponds with actual safari trucks.
