Recommendation: meh 4.6 / 5 from 37 reviews

I like this Nex a lot more than the generic 2.0 and the animal themed 3.0, which just didn't do a lot for me. But with these "Breakout" releases, my love of Hero Factory was rekindled. Nex is one of the shorter heroes since he's a cheaper set, but he comes with some great pieces. He has a blaster and hero cuffs just like all the other heroes in this line, and a new style helmet, that actually looks like a one-piece version of that awful 2.0 head and helmet accessory. His other accessories include the minifig harpoon gun that is stuck in his shoulder armor, which looks like a communications antenna, and his left "hand" is a laser cutter/welder/gun. Definitely a cool figure with some great tools.

This version just doesn't do it for me like the last two. I don't think he's a bad set, he's certainly better than Nathan and maybe Mark too. And he's certainly balanced better colourwise than Voltixx. I guess in the long run it depends on whether or not you want them all, or if you want the orange for something, or if he's your favourite tech-head.
