I'm very happy with this purchase. I think that this is a must-have for any Bat-fans collection!
First off we have the minifigures, LEGO has done an excellent job designing these, and while I know next to nothing about Batman, they do seem pretty accurate and do satisfy my tastes. The two vehicles included in the set are built quite well, and I have no problems with them, in fact, I really like Bane's driller. The Batcycle is pretty good to, though it seems fairly simple. As for the rest of the cave, my favorite part has to be the computer. Like the last version, which I was able to see in person, it's quite large and has multiple displays. The transforming function is quite ingenious, nice work LEGO.
My 6 year old son just had a major surgery, and so he got lots of "surgery gifts" after. This was one of them. He asked me for this because he is a huge lego fan. This set has a TON of pieces, but he was able to complete it on his own. The functionality of this set is really cool. Lots of moving parts, booby-traps, etc. I was playing with him and was enjoying messing around with all of the gadgets on this one. It also comes with several of the batman characters too. It will take a young kid about 2 hours to build, due to the amount of pieces. If an adult or older child helps you can probably knock it out within an hour. Very cool set!
As a set, this thing isn't anything special. Even with figures, if that's what you're interested in, you're better off just picking up Bane and Bruce Wayne on the aftermarket and getting the rest of the figures elsewhere. As a parts pack, there is decent value, with plenty of trans-blue, treads, and other parts. The great bases and spiral stairs from the old badcave are gone, replaced with pillars and plates. The price is lower, but so is what it delivers.
